I have at least 15 candles stashed around my apartment, and all of them have been given to me by loved ones. They’re special, and I’m selective about how often I burn them. I make sure they don’t tunnel, I always trim wicks to ¼ inch, and I burn them for only about two hours at a time—all in an effort to make them last as long as possible.
So when my Instagram algorithm started serving me influencer after influencer raving about their candle warmers, I was intrigued. For the uninitiated, a candle warmer is an electric device that looks like a lamp and uses ambient heat, rather than an open flame, to melt a candle’s wax and release the scent. Seeing these candle warmers in action, I realized that maybe I didn’t need to be so precious about my candles to make them last. Maybe I just needed a candle warmer.
